Welcome to Visual Arts
Years 7-9
All students will study Visual Art in Year's 7, 8 and 9 for one Term, for approximately 2-3 classes per week.
Year 10
Year 10 students have the opportunity to select Art as a full year option. These students will have classes 3-4 times a week and build upon the skills they have learnt in Year's 7-9 in preparation for NCEA Level 1.
Year 11
In Year 11 students have the opportunity to do Level 1 Art NCEA. (Student's will need to have met the prerequisites in Year 10 to continue into Level 1.)
Year 12
Students may choose one of the following subject areas to study: Level 2 Design, Level 2 Painting and Level 2 Photography. (Students need to have met the prerequisites in Level 1 Painting or Photo/Design to continue into Level 2.)
Year 13
Students may choose to study one of the following subject areas: Level 3 Design, Level 3 Painting and Level 3 Photography and Scholarship. (Students need to have met the prerequisites in Level 2 Painting, Photography or Design to continue into Level 3.)
